Brother Hubbard, Capel Street
Brother Hubbard, Capel Street
Menu/Dishes:
Fresh and tasty veg-focused but not strictly vegi food. I dined with a few friends at their mid-week brunch. I went for the three salad plate while my friends went for the bircher muesli, Irish tasting plate and Turkish eggs meneman.
Price Point:
Most lunch and brunch mains come in at €10-13 which I felt was quite good for the portion sizes and quality of ingredients.
Atmosphere:
This wasn’t the first or second time I’ve eaten in Brother Hubbard North or South, they simply hadn’t previously been featured on the blog as I hadn’t visited them in a few years.
Since the last time I was in Brother Hubbard North they’ve expanded significantly with a huge amount of seating as well as a courtyard where we sat which was a lovely spot to enjoy a bite to eat on a sunny day.
Service:
Our service was perfect, the staff knew the menu really well and were able to cater to our group’s needs.
Why I Liked it Enough to Share:
I’ve always been a fan out Brother Hubbard’s food but stopped going as their original Capel st restaurant was too cramped for my liking.I know some people feel like the expansion has caused the restaurant to loose its quirkiness a bit but, I’m personally glad; the need for the expansion is a testament to the popularity of their food and, there’s no longer a need to be shoulder-to-shoulder with the person next to you while you eat.
Perfect For:
A healthy and delicious lunch in the city centre.
